Faith Can Move Mountains

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” ~ Hebrews 11:1

I used to think of faith in terms of getting answers to my prayers and receiving from God the things that He alone can provide. But as I matured in my Christian walk, I found that there is a more important reason for building up my faith. Faith is about pleasing God. Hebrews Chapter 11 is known as the Faith Chapter. In verse 6, it is written: “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” What pleases God? Our faith! What displeases God? Our lack of faith. When Abraham was about to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice, God intervened and saved Isaac. Why? Because Abraham had faith that God would keep His promise that by his seed God would make a great nation and all the nations of the earth will be blessed because of him. Do we come to God with a belief that He is God and that He will reward those who diligently seek Him? God provided a sacrifice so that Isaac would live. Abraham’s faith was rewarded. May it be so with us. Amen!
