I know what you are thinking: Did HOPE3 Ministries add another program to its ministry, this time reaching out to the animal kingdom? Worry not, the answer is no. Our programming will always be in support of our mission, and kittens are not a part of that.
But remember our New Year’s Day blog post? The one where we brainstormed ideas for how we could be “living it” in 2017?
Well, I, for one, have reaffirmed my commitment to felines in need of a foster home at my local animal shelter. Since I started this volunteer project, I have fostered several dozen cats and kittens, sometimes having as many as five felines in need in my home. I have bottle-fed, administered medications, petted and played. And provided a warm, comfortable and loving respite for animals in need of a safe place to land before being put up for adoption.
Have I secretly kept a kitten? No. (Though the thought has crossed my mind.)
It has not always been easy to care for these animals, but I know in my heart that God loves each and every one of the little fuzzy creatures. It is written that God knows the number of hairs on our head. He cares for all of His creation, but especially for us.
“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” ~ Luke 12:7
So, how about you? How have you been giving back to God’s creation? What service or ministry opportunities have you embraced?
How have you been living it in 2017?
